Starter packs & free bonuses
Every new character bonus worth claiming, and the order to claim it in. Get the order wrong and you level past the reward.
New-player and event gifts
Gifts are tied to a launch or seasonal event and carry an end date. Check the launcher banner and the in-game reward window when you create the character.
Seasonal server rewards
Create a seasonal character and complete the season objectives; the season pass path hands out progressive gear and rewards.
Launch and leveling rewards
Claim the reward track that accompanies a fresh server or major content drop; most bonuses are front-loaded in the first week.
Catch-up and returning-player path
Use the current catch-up event path. It is designed for accounts arriving now and it compresses the early tiers.
Lineage 2 Essence: claim event rewards in three steps
- Create your account and a PC character. Most gifts are tied to character creation, so do this on the world you intend to keep.
- Check the launcher banner and the in-game reward window. Launch gifts are event content with an end date, not a permanent feature.
- Claim everything you are entitled to, then hold one-off items until you have settled on a class. See the beginner mistakes guide before you spend them.
Free to play on Windows PC. New-player gifts change with each event, so check the in-game reward window before you spend anything.

The two mistakes that cost people their starter rewards
- Claiming late. New-player gifts are usually tied to the character creation window or the first login. Create the character the day you register, even if you cannot play yet.
- Spending the reward before choosing a build. A spellbook (or any one-off reward) spent on a class you abandon is a permanent loss, see our beginner mistakes guide.
Are these bonuses worth creating an account for?
Yes, if you were going to try the game anyway, a free spellbook or seasonal reward path is the cheapest possible head start. No, if the bonus is the only reason: starter items accelerate a character you intend to play, they do not replace the decision to play one.
