Most Lineage 2 Essence guides rot silently. They were correct when they were written, the game moved, and nothing in the page warns you.
This is the timeline we use to decide whether a guide is still usable. Dates are the EU/RU rollout, which runs behind the Korean build.
Rose Vain, September 2025
Added the Blood Rose class and the guardian Glassia, reworked a chunk of the roster, opened new hunting grounds and dungeons, and introduced Dragon Boxes.
Still relevant for: anyone playing Blood Rose, and anyone who owns a guardian. The overview is here.
Samurai, November 2025
The katana class. Kamael-only, male, one-handed sword, heavy armour, no Blessed by Sayha. It also came with special Samurai worlds, which is why you see the name twice in the launcher and on community sites.
Still relevant for: class choice. The class guide is here.
Echo of Elements
The elemental update between Samurai and Celestial Destiny. It reworked how elemental damage and resistance interact, which quietly changed gearing for every class that leans on an element.
Still relevant for: anyone stacking elemental damage. If your build guide predates it and never mentions element resistance, it is probably written for a different game state.
Celestial Destiny, July 2026
Interserver War, two clan dungeons, and the biggest round of class work since Rose Vain. Healers, Justiciar, Inquisitor, Despot, Voice of Fate, death knights and archers all changed.

How to spot a dead guide
- It names a class that no longer exists, or misses one that does.
- It talks about a server that is not in your launcher.
- It gives exact damage numbers with no date attached.
- It promises a gift or event that ended months ago.
- It never mentions the update it was written for.
Our rule: every page shows when it was last revised, and if a page describes a past update we say so at the top. A guide that admits it is historical is more useful than one pretending to be current.
